Our History
SEATOBAG® was founded in 2018 to deliver fresh seafood from Pulau Kukup to consumers. Since 1979, this island has been home to numerous aquaculture farms where fresh seafood is raised for consumption. However, current farming practices are threatening the rich biodiversity of the sea. Albert Tay, SEATOBAG® Managing Director and Founder, saw the urgent need to use science and technology to reduce the impact on the ocean biodiversity and improve sustainability for aquaculture farming.
Hence, the company pioneered the use of postbiotics in feeding their livestock, resulting in healthier and tastier LACTOSEAFOOD® fishes.
With this success, SEATOBAG® innovate and develop the aquaculture biotechnology to support production of nature-positive Blue Foods and promote a Green Growth Aquaculture Industry.
It All Started With The Mangrove Ecosystem
The Mangrove Ecosystem is a treasure trove of productivity and biodiversity that benefits humanity in countless ways. It provides plant products, filters runoff, stabilizes coastlines, and serves as a nursery for fisheries. It’s also a powerful ‘carbon sink’ and biodiversity hotspot teeming with diverse life, including microbes that serve as a source for biotechnology products.
SEATOBAG® USING Miiiome™ TECHNOLOGY
SEATOBAG® focuses our research and innovation on understanding the Mangrove Microbial Ecosystem and exploring the potential of microbial diversity for its applications in aquaculture. Our Science Team has explored and cultured a proprietary postbiotic - biocrobeX™, which has expanded our development of sustainable aquaculture farming applications in Miiiome™ Aqua Feed (Fermented), and producing LACTOSEAFOOD® with Postbiotic as quality Blue Food.
SEATOBAG® Team continues our research and innovation to realise the potential of biocrobeX™ Postbiotic beyond aquaculture into the Food Industry.
